چکیده

The impact of initial conditions on the initiation of fundamental frequency ferroresonance is investigated. The investigation is carried out by simulating the behaviour of the mathematical model of ferroresonant circuit realized in the laboratory. The initiation of fundamental frequency ferroresonance is investigated by varying the values of phase angle and amplitude of voltage source in order to incite the ferroresonance. Thereby, the initial conditions are varied within a practically possible range of initial values of transformer voltage and transformer flux linkage.

Impacts of New Suggested Ferroresonance Limiter on the Stability Domain of Ferroresonance Modes in Power Transformers Considering Metal Oxide Surge Arrester Effect

this work studies the effect of neutral earth resistance on the controlling ferroresonance oscillation in the power transformer including MOV surge arrester. A simple case of ferroresonance circuit in a three phase transformer is used to show this phenomenon and the three-phase transformer core structures including nonlinear core losses are discussed. The effect of MOV surge arrester and neutra...

Simulation and Analysis of Ferroresonance in Power System

Ferroresonance is a nonlinear dynamic phenomenon, between a non-linear inductor and system capacitance. Hereby a study is undertaken on systems comprising of the required parameters, under which the possibility of ferroresonance may arise. For any operating voltage applied to series combination of capacitance and transformer windings at no-load, the critical value of capacitance to cause ferror...

Classification of Fundamental Ferroresonance, Single Phase-to-Ground and Wire Breakage Over-Voltages in Isolated Neutral Networks

This paper proposes a simple and effective method for classification of fundamental ferroresonance, single phase-to-ground and wire breakage over-voltages. In isolated neutral networks, power frequency over-voltages due to ferroresonance, single phase-to-ground and wire breakage may exist for a long time, and have very highly similar voltage features. If the improper suppression operation is ap...

Application of PSCAD/EMTDC and Chaos Theory to Power System Ferroresonance Analysis

Ferroresonance is a nonlinear dynamic electrical phenomenon, which frequently occurs in a power system that comprises no-load saturable transformers, transmission lines (or cables) and single-phase switching with three-phase supply. Common characteristics of a nonlinear system are multiple equilibrium points, limit cycles, jump resonance and subharmonic generation. This paper presents an extens...
